Why is this test done
Interleukin-6 (IL-6) is an inflammatory marker that can get elevated due to acute inflammatory reactions to injury, trauma, stress, or infection. The test may be done –
1. To monitor inflammatory responses to conditions such as an infection, sepsis, lupus, or rheumatoid arthritis
2. To check for diabetes, stroke, and heart diseases.
3. To evaluate the severity of SIRS (Systemic Inflammatory Response Syndrome), COVID-19 and sepsis
What does it measure
IL6 test measures the presence of the protein Interleukin 6 in the blood, which is an inflammatory marker.
What to expect during the test
A blood sample is obtained by inserting a needle into a vein in the arm.

Yes, you need to fill up a consent form for all scans.
If you are pregnant you also need to fill up Form F, which is a mandatory requirement by the government of India every time you come for a scan
It is not advisable to undergo an X-ray if you are pregnant or have missed your period. We recommend that you consult your doctor before doing an X-ray.
Ultrasounds use sound waves instead of radiation on the patient. They are considered to be safe for pregnant women. We still recommend that you consult your doctor regarding the scan you require.
Scanning is non-invasive and mostly painless. In some specific scans such as mammograms, you may experience slight discomfort.
No, you do not need to submit a prescription to book most tests. In case you have a
prescription and would like to send it to us to help with your booking, you can do that.
Reports for a majority of blood tests are available on the same day as sample collection on
our website. Some specialty procedures require additional processing time which will be
informed to you by the reception.
Lab test reports can be accessed online through a log-in ID and password that will be
provided on your bill. Our reception is happy to provide you with a printout if needed. Scan
reports have to be collected in person.
